I have an avi file with 119.875 fps. I have been using tmpgenc express to encode files to burn to dvd, but when i try to encode this file, everything seems to go well untill i play the encoded file. It freezes up like 2 minutes in. It doesn't actually freeze up altogether, but the video just stays on the same frame while the audio goes and the timer keeps going. I've done all other encodes just fine except for this crazy fps file. Is there a way to correct the fps on this avi?
I don't know it these error are caused by corruptiness in the AVI. I have neves seen a 119.875 fps file! Just to make some test, try loading that AVI with VirtualDub and saving again in AVI form.
ok, i just tried the virtualdub thing. It said it was gonna take about an hour to do on my computer. So i started waiting. about 3 minutes later i get an error saying the file cannot exceed 4GB of space!!! The original file is 170mb. Somehow virtualdub put out a 4GB only 5% into the process. So...any other suggestions?
what is frameserving it and how do i do it? also, i've gone into virtualdub, into the video tab, and changed the framerate to 23.976, then saved as a direct stream copy. The video comes out super choppy and unwatchable.
ok, i figured it out. I used tmpgenc plus, not xpress this time, and it encoded fine once i switched the output framerate to 29fps. Worked like a charm.
