Ok i have all these movies that are approx. 2 hours long on my computer that are .AVI Format and nero doesnt let me burn it on a disc because its not in Video_TS format. I have a dvd burner but i dont know how can i convert a movie that is .avi format into video_ts someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is a great avi to dvd guide, of course you will need the software mentioned in the guide http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tmpgencdvd.htm good luck Ibonic
ok heres what happened i did everything that was on that site and it converted my video to mpeg i need to find out how do you convert it to a .VOB file so i can put it in the VIDEO_TS FOLDER HELP!!!
The Problem is that Nero is Not a Program for Createing DVD"s...You need to Use a DVD authoring program to Format the Mpeg2 file with the Menu"s and Chapters into a Video_TS folder and THEN You can Burn the Video_TS Folder to DVD with nero But there is No Real Point in that Because the DVD authoring Program can Burn it for you..A simple one to use is "Tmpgenc DVD Author" or "DVD-Lab" is even Better.....Cheers
K gotcha ok but what software would any of you guys recommend for burning dvd movie files that are .AVI and are approx. 2 hours long?
You Don"t Burn AVI files to DVD, You author Mpeg2 files to DVD...So you first need to encode the AVI files to Mpeg useing DVD Compliant settings and then you can author the Files to DVD Useing a DVD Authoring Program ...You can use something super simple Like "Tmpgenc DVD author" to Put the Mpeg2 files on DVD and you can use Tmpgenc to encode the Files to Mpeg2 (They are 2 seperate programs)...I personally use different software but these are probably easier to use...There is also a Encoder that is supposed to be super easy to use and it is called "Tmpgenc DVD Source Creator" which only encodes Files to DVD Compliant Mpeg2 so there are no settings to fool with, you can download it here : http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tds.html You can get Tmpgenc DVD Author on the same site...Cheers
Ok here is what happened i finnaly converted the movie .avi to .vob and i thought it was going to work and it did but there was no sound!! Can someone please help me i have the .wave file with the sound from the movie but i dont know how to converted it so it will play sound.
Did you decompress the audio in the AVI file before encodeing it with Tmpgenc??? Tmpgenc doesn"t like Compressed audio especially VBR Mp3 which is what Most downloaded movies have...It is OK though as long as you still have the Original AVI file...All you need to do is Extract the audio from the AVI file to a WAV file and use the Wav File and the M2V Video file to make the DVD..To extract the audio from your AVI to Wav download this Program: Virtual-Dub-Mpeg2 http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/stable/VirtualDub-MPEG2.zip First run the Program and then Load your AVI file into it and then go to "Audio" and set it to "Full Proscessing Mode" and then under "Audio" go to "Compression" and set it to "NONE" and now go to "File" to "Save Wav" and give the file a Name and save it...In a Couple of Minutes you will have a Wav File ,Hopefully the Wav file is 48000hz so you can just Author it to DVD like you did before but use this wav file instead of the One made by Tmpgenc...If the Wav File isn"t 48000hz you can select it when Extracting the Audio under the "Conversion" menu under Audio...Cheers
if you have a movie that is .avi and is 689 mb and is 1 hour and 22 minuts long is there anyway to burn that onto a CD-R 700mb/80min
You can Burn it as an AVI file and it would Fit But as a VCD it would be a Very Tight squeeze..You could Try makeing a Non-Standard VCD and Lower the Audio Bitrate down to 128kbs and then it would Fit OR you can try enableing Overburn in Nero and Overburn the Disk because it will probably be about 820mb after it is encoded to VCD which you should be able to fit on a CD-R if you use Overburn....Cheers
If the Audio Bitrate is greyed out then you have to Unlock the Audio Bitrate setting by Clicking were it says "Bitrate" in the audio settings and choose "Unlock" and then the setting will become adjustable..You can do this with allmost every setting that is Locked....Cheers PS: If you Put the Audio Bitrate down to 128kbs the Mpeg file will not be 100% VCD Compliant and you will get an error in Nero saying that the File is not VCD Compliant when you try to Burn the File..If this Happens Just Burn the File anyways because I have never heard of a DVD Player not playing the Movies because the Audio Bitrate was Lower than Standard....Cheers
can someone give me good instructions on how to burn a .avi movie that is 1 hours 22 min long onto a 80 min CD-R.
