I'm a newb and it's my first time been here. I wanted to burn a AVI to VCD, and converted AVI to mpg by using TMPGEnc. I played the movie after I've converted it and it's fins. But when I'm burning it with Nero 6 it said that it's a invalid encoding and have to convert again. I've tried that but the quality real sucks so I've ignored it. I've burned it again and tried, but whole movie are f***ed up. just like there's wrong with the disk, thousands of small squares and it's impossilble to watch it.. Can someone help me about it and tell me how to burn a desent VCD?
I've tried to run it on computer and it works fine.. but it doesn't work when I put it in my DVD-player. smooth, bad quality etc..
Hi, Are you sure its not the DVD player? Some DVD players wont play vcds at all, some other come out distorted and some work fine. have you any other VCDs that run ok? It just seems funny that it works ok on your PC?
1. Burn slow 2. Done use the Nero encoder (i couldnt tell if you did from what you said, either that or i really need to sleep more often in a aweek) For more info on encoding to (S)VCD with TMPGEnc: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43085 To see some common solutions for various TMPGEnc related issues, visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/40101 For information on burning VCDs with Nero: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/nero_videocd_guide.cfm
rhodri : My DVD player works fine with VCDs.. I've played many VCDs with it many time before.. So I don't think there are any problems with my DVD player.. Yea it's really funny that it works fine with Good quality on PC.. Praetor : I burned it with slowest speed and didn't use Nero encoder.. instead I used TMPGEnc to encode it.. didn't re-encode with Nero.. But still the quality was REALLY bad that it's impossible to watch it.. but it works fine on my PC.. As I said to rhodri, Good quality on PC(works fine).. But sucks on DVD-player. (I have 2 DVD-players and both off them works exactly the sameT.T..)
I dont know if this is what you are talking about but VCD compared next to AVI is like comparing a popsical stick to skyscrapers. VCD is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than AVIs are.
