I'm new to burning vcd's and have burned a few but, I'm trying to burn an SVCD DVD rip of a movie with Nero and I'm not having much luck. When I drop the MPEG file in, I get a prompt saying it is an invalid resolution. Does this mean I need a codec or something? Or do I have to adjust something in the settings to burn SVCD?? Anyway I choose ignore and continue with the burn.. it burns but won't play properly in my DVD player. I can see a picture but there are green lines and blotches everywhere and it freezes up. In fast forward I see the picture better and it looks very good. How can I burn a proper copy of this mpg!? I'm getting Nero 6 Ultimate.. not sure if this will help with my problem. In the prompt it asks if I want to re-encode the file, will I lose quality if I do that? I know it takes forever too. So is there any way I can burn it without re-encoding it? Is my DVD player not compatible? Or is this file meant for DVDR? I'm just a rookie at this but this svcd stuff is a major headache and seems like it's not even worth the time and hassle. Any info or help would be much appreciated. Thanx
Invalid Resolution is because it is either 480x480 or 480x576. Thats not standard for DVD but it is for SVCD!
