Hope i'm posting this in the right area, i've searched the forums for help but none were useful. I need some help choosing the right new dvd burner. I need a dual layer burner, i was looking at the pioneer dvr 109 but apparently this burner isn't very good for backing up ps2 games such as gran turismo 4. The brands i was tossing up are sony, lg and liteon, but i already have a 107-d pioneer and am very happy with the brand. Thanks in advance.

    Jonny,
This question has been asked numerous times and the answer generally boils down to the end user's preferences. Most all of the top name brand burners are of good quality these days..Plextor, Pioneer, NEC, BENQ, Sony, LG, et.al.. Most will say Plextor is top of the line; but it is generally the most expensive about $125. So if money is no object, go with the Plextor. If you are budget minded you will find that the NEC, BENQ, and LG will give you "good bang for the buck" for about $50.

Read the below thread. There are some good suggestions by the contributors and some reviews you can check out. After reading, post any specific question about a particular model and I am sure someone has it and can offer specific answers:
