Hay all, dunno if this is going to open up a can of worms, but I'm looking at getting a stb, just wondering which is better the eurovox max v or starview 2???? Thanks in advance!
Straight answer Eurovox is better, Starview 2 called "The Box", is easier to set up and cheaper. Both do as they say on the tin, just a matter of personal choice.
hi all,is the setup the same with the new box as the starview ie:1570,nagra-then keys,only my dad wants one but i cant get him the starview as he`ll get too pi**ed off with the epg being crap,so i want to get him the box,any reply would be appreciated,thanks
yeah same thing.just new firmware and the front of it looks abit better other than that theres no real difference.

please answer a question from a newbie,when i bought my st**view (1st gen) 3 months ago and entered the cod*s manually from this great site ive had no probs at all,i get all channels but all i see are topics on firmware,gtrom,am i missing something?(except epg pure sh*te}or is ignorance bliss? i have the 232 port and cable, but do i need to download anything to improve what i manually entered 3 months ago? an ignorant scouser would appreciate an informed reply
johncul: First question would be, what version of firmware are you running? To find out, press Menu, go down to System Information, and press OK. The number I'm looking for is next to API. Second, are there any problems at all, freezing picture, blocky picture or message every 10-15mins about bad scrabmled channel?
if you dont have a clone then flash it with v4.00e this will solve your problems! Epg will never be great with the starviews. just the way it is . click on eamo's, eko.4 link under my post for all the firmware u need ...
