DVD burner will burn DVD's playable only on my PC, not in the DVD player.
The exception here is a DVD+R RW will burn properly and is playable in the DVD player.

I have used both Sony DVD-R's & DVD+R's and some generic +R's with the same results. The Program I'm trying to use is Cyber link Ppower Producer 3.

I had Pinnacle Studio 9 on the same machine and uninstalled it when
it started to ask me to pay and download individual codecs.

I was told that there is something wrong with the burn engine.(Software related) If so how do I fix the problem?

The Drive is a "Sony DVD RW DW-D26A JYS2" with no firmware udate available. Region free.

    Thanks

First, what do you mean my DVD player? Do you mean one that is connected to your television, or a DVD ROM player in your computer?

What type of media does the manual for your DVD player say it will recognize?

    The Sony dvd RW DW-D26A JYS2 is a Dual Layer Internal DVD Burner, 16X DVD+R, 8X DVD+RW, 16X DVD-R, 6X DVD-RW, 48X CD-R, 24X CD-RW and Double Layer 4X DVD+R.

And the DVD player I refer to is the one connected to my TV.

Sorry I forgot to mention that DVD player connected to the TV has played this media before. That's what I don't understand.
I checked the obvious and the DVD player is playing other movies.
