    DVD X COPY

I am having a problem with burning my dvd. It successfully copies the disk 1. Then when prompted to burn disk 1 I put in a dvd+rw in my burn drive. Then it pompts me that "media requested dvd+r/rw,dvd-r/rw last media detected dvd+rw" also ejecting the recent disk that I put in. It also does the same thing for dvd+r and saying the same thing to me and ejecting the disk.

I only have 1 bay drive which servers i use for all things. it is a "asus drw-0402p/d" this is a +- dvd burner. My nero version that I am using is 5.5.9.9.

    BURN SETUP
    target drive: "d: drw-0402 pd(bus 0 targ 0)"
source dvd disk label "club dread 43_rated"
target dvd disk label "club dread 43_rated"

I have read many, many threads and not found any to be of help. please help with what you can. I am sure of the dvd+rw and dvd+r being clean. they all were brand new.

    thanks

    Jason

    Hi Mathern,

Are you using Nero or DVDXCopy? Have you ever been able to backup dvd's? Is your burner new?

No I have never backed-up dvd's before. I am new at this. I am using nero as my burning software but using xcopy to copy the dvd. Yes my burner is new as well.

    Mathern,

I've never tried it that way... But what you need since you have Nero. Get DVD Shrink and while your at it get DVD Decrypter. This way we'll kill 2 birds with one stone.

    Ok... Using [bold]DVD Shrink w/ Nero[/bold]
    1) Open Shrink, click edit, then preferences.
    2) Under the File I/O tab, check the box to enable burning with Nero.
    3) Open disk, click "backup!"
    4) Target destination will be your burner.
    5) Click ok.

    Using [bold]DVD Shrink w/ DVD Decrypter[/bold]
    1) Open Shrink, open disc
    2) Click "backup!"
    3) Change Target Destination to "ISO Image File"
    4) Check box to Launch DVD Decrypter
    5) under "backup options" tab, check box to perform deep analysis.
    6) Click ok.

Run no other programs while backing up. Also make sure your up to date with your burners firmware, have good media, and have your ide settings set to DMA. I think thats it. Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.
