Help! I am a frustrated newbie. I downloaded and burned 1095 firmware to a CD-R to disable macrovision to record copyrighted DVD's. I used Easy CD Creater Roxio, which is what I have on my computer. I did finalize CD-R. I inserted CD-R into Ilo DVDR04 recorder. The word FIlE came up. I used source first and chose every mode before inserting CD-R and still would not work. Nothing came up to choose or anything. I need step by step instructions. Can someone help me? Did I need to use another firmware first. I did see where I could buy a video stabilizer. Is this what I should do? Thanks for a response.
Try burning the 1097 hacked firmware to cd-r and finalize.Before you insert the cd-r select the dvd source(the one with the ilo screen)then insert cd-r.Hope it works.
Like gserve said you need 1097 firmware because it has both system and drive firmware update. Remember there are 2 versions of the dvdr04 so you might want to check your sn in the menu to see what version you have. The info about both are at the firmware site.
