Thanks for the reply. Is your recorder a Sylvania DVR90VF?

Yes, it's a DVR90VF, a nice DVD unit too, but I'm not too impressed with the VCR deck part, I get a little better picture with any of my Panasonic VCR's,,, Although not quite as sharp playback as my Panasonic RV-26 DVD player, on the DVD part, it seems to work pretty good,,, it works better then my Panasonic RV-26 DVD player, which has fits of macroblocking on some commercial DVD movies copied on my computer. Plus, it has alot of user friendly, simple to operate extra features not found on many DVD recorders at this price range. I normally use TDK, or Maxell, 8X speed DVD-R media, these seem to work good.

I tried the the Maxell 2x dvd-r on my machine and it didn't want to except it. Except for having a hard time finding discs that work I am satisfied with it so far. Thanks for the info.
