Question for the Main Men: In the last 3-4 months, most every time I download something, saving it to various places, it usually ends up Corrupted or missing a file, arm , left nut or something telling me to redownload it. I have Win. XP Home, SP 2 and Dial up w/ MSN . I use Nortons anti virus, have the firewalls on and often run Spy Sweeper. So, besides me being in the wrong field, is there any suggestions ? Thanks in advance !!

well i suppose it could be a problem with your hard drive.. espescially if the same thing is happening for every file you download. although it makes me wonder that if it is your hard drive why hasnt it messed up your windows install.... hmmm

it could also be dial up, its so slow that it could be missing out packets of the files your downloading which would leave them corrupt and incomplete.

not really sure how youd go about testing this but you can certainly check if your hard drive is at fault. post back with the specs of your system (or at least the model and manufacturer of your hard drive) i can send you in the right direction for some tools to test your hard drive.... if you can download them that is :S

ok open up my computer and right click on your C: drive, go to properties, click on the hardware tab. it will tell you the make and model number of your hard drive there.

find out and post back here
