My niece borrowed some cds and spilled something on the top of them. I am guessing soda but who knows for sure! Does anyone know what I can use to clean them? A very good reason why I should have backed up my cds BEFORE she borrowed them! Thanks in advance...

Try distilled vinegar, which is strong enough to dissolve most substances without hurting the CD. Rub it on the CD with your finger or a cotton swab, then wipe it dry with a tissue.

Rinse under tepid water and then use a very mild, clear dishwashing liquid. You don't have to dilute it. Use your finger to spread around. Rinse under running tepid water. Next take a clean cotton rag (absolutely no nap)and wipe dry from center of the hub to the outside. Some people use eyeglass cloths to wipe.

    Hi
You could also try isopropyl alcohol, which does the job for me.
