I have a virus on my pc that has made my dvd burner unusable for burning. All my burning programs dont recognize the burner,but the computer does,when i go to add new hardware the computer tells me that the burner is installed and is working,its also in disk manager and its works in "My Computer",but i cant burn anything,i have tried a few different burners but the same thing happens,it started yesterday and also i cant even do a system restore as the virus has wiped out all my restore points,i have tried several scanners( Kaspersky,Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes) but nothing has picked it up and i really dont want to do a reinstall of windows unless its a last resort..has anyone come across this type of virus and has a solution please ??

Thanks dailun for the suggestion,i seems that it was a rookit,i downloaded a free rootkit remover from Mcafee and it was able to rename the virus.All my burning programs are now working,i just have to wait a couple of days to see if my pc will resume creating restore points.
