hi I see the closed ones and tried each of the ideas, nothing seemed to work for me. I had everything working fine then I updated to nero 7.10 and I get illegal disk when burning DVD-R. It burned a dvd +RW just fine tho which is odd. Can anyone help me please? thanks Log file Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 7.10.1.0 Internal Version: 7, 10, 1, 0 Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A> Version: 3.26 - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.10.1.0 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? And yes I tried to update firmware, thats newest I could find, and I tried uninstalling nero and cleaning registry, and resintalling, that didnt help me either. Thanks
Only things I can see is These arent top quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan) Slow burn to 4X
I was limited to what local store had. I tried TDK, Memorex, and these that you call not quality in the log is Maxwell. I am fairly sure its not the disks fault since I tried 3 types. I think I need a new drive. I dont know *sobs*
after all that I go ahead and go back 4 versions of firmware for teh drive and it all works fine. Guess the new nero likes my old firmware, and not mynew firmware. Thanks got all working now
Some burners are picky at what they do....glad to hear you've got it working...please heed my advice and stay away from the memorex.
lol ok, I ussually buy tdk as the are often cheapest by the 100, and I have never had one that was bad. I once bought a 100 stack of memorex and had 20 or so be bad disks.. I ussually dont buy them thanks again
