I've just got an xbox with an executor 2.6 installed and I'm trying to backup my games but the problem is none of the ftp programs can access the xbox.

Smartftp says no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Flashfxp gives me the error code 10061 connection failed.

    heres my settings:

    xbox

    setup network yes
    static ip yes
    ip 192.168.0.101
    subnetmask 255.255.255.0
    defaultgateway 192.168.1.1
ftp is enabled with the password xbox

    lan

is showing as being connected in the lan window and in the system tray
    tcp/ip properties

    ip 192.168.0.100
    subnetmask 255.255.255.0
    defaultgateway 192.168.1.1

i've tried everything that i can find on the net but nothing seems to work and i'm just about to throw the dam thing through the living room window so can someone out there please help.

    thank you

You go to start-run-and type CMD then at the command prompt(black screen) type ping and the ip address EX-ping 192.168.2.201 and you shoud get a reply if you get request timed out then your not communicating with the Xbox. What I would do is change the static ip of the xp(last digits) and then try to ping and then see if you have communication. I also suggest you buy a cheap wired router(2port) from anywhwere Compusa has them for $29.00. then you can run network cables without all the hassle. From what your saying I'll bet its your crossover cable.

narrowed it down even further, it seems i may have a conflict between my adsl modem which uses wan drivers and my lan card.

For your LAN settings, don't enter a Default Gateway. Leave it blank and try to connect.
