I've just got an xbox with an executor 2.6 installed and I'm trying to backup my games but the problem is none of the ftp programs can access the xbox. Smartftp says no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. Flashfxp gives me the error code 10061 connection failed. heres my settings: xbox setup network yes static ip yes ip 192.168.0.101 subnetmask 255.255.255.0 defaultgateway 192.168.1.1 ftp is enabled with the password xbox lan is showing as being connected in the lan window and in the system tray tcp/ip properties ip 192.168.0.100 subnetmask 255.255.255.0 defaultgateway 192.168.1.1 i've tried everything that i can find on the net but nothing seems to work and i'm just about to throw the dam thing through the living room window so can someone out there please help. thank you
how are you connected to the Xbox?-Router? and do you have a firewall on? try changeing your static ip of the X-box and see if you can ping it. Also what operating system are you running on your pc?-Need to know more before I can help you!
I have connected by a NIC, admtek 983, and using a crossover cable. Running windows xp with sp2. I'm not running a firewall. The xbox is showing line status 100/full duplex. sorry i'm really new to this how do i ping my xbox. thanx
You go to start-run-and type CMD then at the command prompt(black screen) type ping and the ip address EX-ping 192.168.2.201 and you shoud get a reply if you get request timed out then your not communicating with the Xbox. What I would do is change the static ip of the xp(last digits) and then try to ping and then see if you have communication. I also suggest you buy a cheap wired router(2port) from anywhwere Compusa has them for $29.00. then you can run network cables without all the hassle. From what your saying I'll bet its your crossover cable.
I've sorted the problem by using a pc that is running windows me. connected to my xbox first time so it must have been something to do with xp. thanx for all the help
narrowed it down even further, it seems i may have a conflict between my adsl modem which uses wan drivers and my lan card.
have you tried to change the configure your IP Address just like the tutorial says? http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/141037
