Hey all, Ok. I have read the tutorial on this site (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm) on how to convert a VCD to DVD and have followed it word for word a few times now. The problems happens when I use the DVD authoring program spruceup. I select the video file which it imports fine but when it gets to the audio it displays a 'media file error' I have renamed the mp2 file to mpa (right click, rename, change .mp2 to .mpa) is this the correct way? What am I doing wrong??
Try something like different to author the Files to DVD like "Tmpgenc DVD author" which I personally do not use or Like But it does support the SIF DVD Format, and if you get an error in that program then the Problem is probably with the Files them selves....
Hey Goeman! I friggin struggled with that same kind of crap for weeks and finally figured it out! There is a great program called "CUCUSOFT AVI TO DVD VCD SVCD MPEG Convertor Pro - v4.0" http://www.cucusoft.com http://www.avi-vcd.com.
me again...once you convert the file THEN throw it into TMPGEncDVDAuthor. Once you convert it with the AVI-DVD, it will probably give you three files...ignore the small one and try using one of the larger ones in TMPGEnc, it will somehow automatically bring in the audio, it should happen before you very eyes and hopefully then you will be on a roll.
No No No No...There is No need to Re-encode the Files they are allready in the Correct Format and re-encodeing will Just Ruin the Quality Especially with a Low end encoder like Cucosoft.....
