Hello, I need help! I am searching for a DVD recorder or player that offers audio on 2x scan forward. It may be called Smooth Scan forward, 2x audio, etc. My Samsung I've had for years has this valuable feature and I thought all units did, but I haven't lucked out, and store clerks and internet research are no help. I see it used in portable DVD player features, and my mom's Panasonic DVD-S27 has it too (but the DMR-ES20 recorder doesn't!). On one Samsung portable player, description says "2x audio playback feature delivers clear, double-time sound". Does ANYBODY know of a unit with this feature? I would like a good DVD recorder, but if I can just find a decent player with this feature, I can settle. Why is this feature so inconsistent? I should mention I need to stick on mid-range players, not over $250. Thank you, Amy
My Pioneer DVR-531H does audio on the 1.5x fast forward. And you can actually understand what they are saying. My Panasonic player has audio on it's 2x FF, but you cannot understand the audio at all. Raymond
Thanks Raymond. I checked Pioneer's website and they don't manufacture the DVR-531H but they have a DVR-533H. What model Panasonic do you have? Also, the Panasonic DMR-ES20 I tried has DVD-RAM, but many other models don't. Anybody think this is an important feature? Amy
My Sylvania unit does ledgible audio at 2X speed fast forward, As I expect any Emerson, Symphonic, Funai, & I recently heard Magnavox, does, because they're all made by Funai.
