Hi there. I am new to DVD burning and I have yet to burn one. My computer does in fact support DVD-R as I bought a 50 pack of them and I am looking to burn some DVD's. The files I want to burn are .AVI, and I'm pretty sure I have to convert them to .ISO? or convert a DVD folder or something? I'm pretty confused and I'd like some help please!
Use DVD Flick to convert your AVI to ISO or VIDEO_TS and then burn the result with Imgburn...this method uses all freeware. Here is a guide: http://www.burningbits.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3582
Thanks guys. I did the folder2iso and DVDdecrypter combo to burn the DVD. I have a stupid question though, can I burn a DVD without having that menu ''Audio TS'' and ''Video TS'' every time I boot up the DVD-R on a DVD Player? Like it works and everything but I hate having to see/go to that folder menu. Is there a program that can directly burn .AVI to .ISO (the one above did not work for me) and then directly burn .ISO to DVD and then once I put the DVD on a DVD player, it goes straight to the movie and no menu with the Audio/Video folders? I'd really really really apperciate an answer to this.
DVDFlick didn't seem to work for me but that's not really my main issue, I'm asking is there some sort of way or program I can make the burned DVD go straight to video, not the Video_TS and Audio _TS Folders on the main screen when I boot up the DVD.
avi's are typically movie only, with no menu....are you creating a menu? If you are don't, it isn't needed. Additionally, VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders simply contain the files necessary to play the video and an ISO is a nice neat container for these files...both have the same information and files in them. If you do indeed have menu's, once you have the VIDEO_TS folder you can open it with VobBlanker and remove (blank) whatever content out that you want/don't want. Where did these AVI's come from?
I followed this guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_dvd_decrypter.cfm which burns the DVD fine but has the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders when I start up the DVD. What programs can I use to burn ONLY the .AVI file to the DVD so it just goes straight to the movie when I put on the DVD?
It was downloaded as an .AVI and I converted it to .ISO using Folder2Iso. That guide tells me to make an VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder inside another folder and burn that all together so that must be why I am getting those folders when I boot up the DVD in a DVD player. What programs can I use to convert just an .AVI file to .ISO/DVD format?
You have the VIDEO_TS folder that folder2ISO created...open it with DVD Shrink, go to reauthor mode to remove the menu and backup, create an ISO and burn with Imgburn.
OK This is what is going on. I am converting a .AVI file to DVD format using WinAVI video converter. It seems to be making the video_ts and audio_ts folders as well. The Video_TS folder contains VOB and NAV2 files. I have a couple questions... What do I burn these type of files with to a DVD? And can I select only the VOB files and etc by themself in the VIDEO_TS folder or do I include the entire folder containng both the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders?
Imgburn in build mode. No...the AUDIO_TS folder whould be empty and the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder should go untouched. Imgburn will take what it needs to burn a DVD compliant disc.
Will Imgburn put those VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders at start up when I boot the DVD? I just want the DVD to go automatically to the movie. No titles, start menus or anything. So If I do select the entire folder containg the audio_ts folder which contains nothing and the video_ts folder, will it make these menus such as Folder2Iso did?
Hey again! I am using WinAVI to convert the files and IMGBurn in Build Mode to burn. I like the layout when the DVD is started and they work great! Thanks alot for the help! I'm sure I'll be back here again soon!
