i need to ftp some files to my xbox. but whenever i connect it just says "a network cable is unplugged", then it goes off, then it pops up again, it does this all the time now. whereas a week ago i could use it perfectly. i have space on my xbox, the settings are correct (i think!).
i.p. on computer set as: 192.168.0.224
i.p. on xbox set as 192.168.0.225

if it helps im using: evox: +3935
and i am using a crossover cable

every time is says a network cable is unplugged immediately after it either says aquiring network address or connected, but the IP on evox doesnt say anything.

plus whenever i turn off my xbox the not connected cable message stays up but when i turn on xbox its starts connecting then no cable.

Sounds to me like you have DHCP active on Evox it might help to turn that off and use a more Static IP Address...

how do i disable it on evox, it is disabled in avalaunch, and i have static ip set to yes in my evox settings.

when i go into evox settings i get this
(the following flash on then off)
    type: Static
    IP: 12.168.0.225
Line status: 100/Full duplex (this becomes "no link" when the above flash off)

it worked fine about 1-2 weeks ago, but now i want to transfer some saves from xbox-saves and some musi using xbox soundtrack editor. so it isnt flashfxp(i tried) or soundtrack editor or xbox save manager.

could something have come out of the inside of the xbox(the cable is securely in)

ok try going into your network settings on your xbox and make sure that it is enabled ..... enable your static IP, what client are you using to ftp your pc and xbox and try switching off your firewalls

Sounds to me like you need to set your EovX to 'Static' and then scrool down to the IP: Adress and change it from '12.168.0.225'. To something that matches your localhost. If in your OP you said that your Machine was set to '192.168.224'. Then try setting the IP: Address on the XBOX™ to something like... '192.168.0.225 ~ 255'.

Also make sure that your Subnet is set to somthing as default as '255.255.255.0'

my xbox ip has stayed the same(i meant to put 192.xxx.x.xxx not 12.xxx.x.xxx) i havent changed a thing on it.

under network i have the above. then
    setup ntwork--------yes
    static ip-----------yes
    ip------------------192.168.0.225
    subnetmask----------255.255.255.0
    default gateway-----192.168.0.1
    dns-----------------0.0.0.0
    dns-----------------0.0.0.0
    setup delay---------50
    skip setup if no link-no

    unless its the cable.

try changing your setup delay to 5 and not 50

ive set it to 5 but no luck. the xbox has stopped flashing
but now when i turn on my xbox and enable my lan connection, then under "network connections" it says "aquiring network address", then it says "connected", immediately after that i get "a netork cable is unplugged" then it alternates between "a network cable is unplugged" and "connected" untill i get fed up and disable the device or turn off the xbox.

ok lets try this from the top bare with me and lets see if this works ...... your using a crossover cable....?

xbox network settings .... setup network-yes, use static ip-yes make your xbox ip to 192.168.0.3 subnetmusk 255.255.255.0 then go onto setup delay 5, then skip setup if no link yes, go to FTP under enable choose yes, Telnet enable dont forget to save your changes

then go to your LAN connection settings choose (TCP/IP)change the properties IP 192.168.0.4 subnetmusk 255.255.255.0 now rebot your xbox then open your client you using to ftp in my case i use flashFXP click on the quick connect icon and then for the URL use 192.168.0.3 password:username xbox:xbox providing you have not changed your password:username and then connect

this hopefully should work when you connect dont handle the game pad

if this don't work check your crossover cable and pc and xbox connections make sure that they are not lose or faulty

    good luck

no that doesnt work. i think its down to the ethernet cable because it seems to connect, then there is no cable, then there is.

is this a trick question ........ lol lol........unless i'm missing something they are pretty much the same the first one Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and the other.... Foil Twisted-Pair (FTP) - the extra foil shielding protects against Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)

remember you can check if you have a crossover cable by checking the coloured wires they should be the opposite say one end is green, red, blue, black, orange the other one should be orange, black, blue, red, green something like that ........ HOPE THIS HELPS
