help me please i cant play any format but mpeg

    hi there i have a 366mhz compaq persario with a ati rage LT pro agp 2 with the dtivers from the ati website.....seems like i can only play mpeg format when watching movies or clips...is there a way to convert xvid or any other format to mpeg so i can watch something other then a slide show of lag? thanks for your help i know the pc is old but its all i can afford at the moment =(

    do you have all the codecs for the format installed? if not google K-Lite Codecs and you will find them.. if this is what your asking.

    yes k light is the codec pack i have installed and nothing plays but mpegs

    since nobody has a solution can anybody tell me if there is a priogram or a way to downgrade the xvid and divx files to mpeg? even if the video quality suffers anything is better then nothing =/

    try to use Free DVD, media plyaer
    !!! All video formats + DVD's + all audio formats + flash video !!!
