I have DVDs and want to put them on my hard drive so i can play them without the disc. Thats as simple as that. I need to know how to do it. I'm on a P4 2.0GHz with dvd-rom and cd-rw optical drives, 80GB Hard drive etc. PLEASE HELP!
Download DVD Decrypter from www.afterdawn.com --> downloads (search at top of page) Instal and open. Decrypt the disc to a directory on your computer. It will take about 8 mins (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter). Next open the folder you ripped (decrypted) it to. Select the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and right click. Choose a program to play it with. Ta da
i play it and all there is is a screen with: DVD production services by: DVCC Digital Video compression center
they don't have the menus just seperate movie clips. any way i could make them into 1 single file? i heard about some DivX/Xvid thingy
You could use the free EasyDivX (search in google - it might be www.easydivx.com) to convert the DVD to DivX and it will play as an AVI file on your computer. You need to have ASPI layers installed, which you can get from www.afterdawn.com - search button at top.
What software are you using to play it in. WinDVD will play it. Oh, hold on a minute. Are your settings for DVD DEcrypter in Mode - IFO I
Im using ATI Multimedia Center, i also have powerDVD, interactual player, Windows media player, RealOne player... I don't know what the settings are.
40? thats a bit much - hold on.... Right, go to settings --> File mode --> select Movie Only and split by file Go to IFO Mode then --> Enable Main movie PGC and file splitting 1GB (you can change this to none and it will create one file - it might be worth while trying that) try that - im off to bed (its 2.00am here) to watch some football - hope you get on ok :-D
