i have a canon ZR100 dig camcorder. i am using a cable with 4 pin firewire on one end and usb on the other...so far everyone told me that this cable would work fine. but every time i plug it into win xp it gives me a device not recognized message. what can i do here???
Firewire on one end and USB on the other end? Such cables do not exist: Firewire and USB are not compatible with each other...

Wow, if your cables really look like in the picture somebody in a factory must have screwed up big time, combining the wrong connectors in one lead. And apparently they wanted to limit their loss and decided to sell them on eBay. Sorry, evelcrisp, you wasted your money. By thew ays, the text of the advertisment is correct and nowhere mentions USB. It says: '..transmits data between a FireWire-capable device and a Firewire port on your computer..". Another nice statement in their warranty terms: "..but we are not responsible for any incompatibility problems." Big joke
