help i've got this problem.. my computer type is

    Operating System:
Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp1.020828-1920)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: Malay)
    System Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation
    System Model: L933r
    BIOS: Default System BIOS
    Processor: Intel Pentium III, ~930MHz
    Memory: 254MB RAM
Page File: 165MB used, 459MB available

now the problem is i have 32mb display card.. but it only read 4mb as u can see

Card name: Intel(r) 82810E Graphics Controller
    Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
    Chip type: Intel(R) 82810
    DAC type: Internal
    Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7125&SUBSYS_43328086&REV_03
    Display Memory: 4.0 MB
    Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (16 bit) (60Hz)

when your computer is starting up take a look for what you need to press to get into the setup (usually f2 or Del but it can vary) and press it. that will take you into the bios. if you have a look around in the menus you should see something like "video memory size" or "graphics aperture size" (something like that anyway) change it up to 32 and thats it.

if you dont use this comp for games or anything then id personally leave it at 8 or 16 as the memory size is taken out of your system memory the more graphic memory you have the less system memory

The display memory you read there is exactely right ! This is the controller and it is has a 4Mb DRAM that is what is given for specs on the Intel(r) 82810E Graphics Controller by Intel.

When you enter bios, move to the Advanced screen. Press down to Video Configuration and press enter. Select the size you want and press spacebar. Press the F10 key and then press ENTER to save your changes. The screen will go blank and the computer will restart. That should work. Here is the link from the Dell support page I am referencing from. http://support.dell.com/support/top...212F815011DA80AC7B22CCB0F52F&l=en&s=dhs#en#us

    @ Auslander

It has onboard video you can dedicate your memory to be used as video memory.

Would this mean that there is 2 meg dedicated to video and a 2meg chip on the graphics controller?
