I have just Quick Erased a DVD+RW in Nero but it was the wrong one - DICKHEAD! How can I recover the data? I know it's still there somewhere but can't see it in explorer etc.

Nero states that Quick erase is not a secure method of deleting confidential data - which implies that it is recoverable - PLEASE HELP ME - The data was very valuable to me and can not be replaced.

    TIA

Not sure if this will work but you could try and use ISOBuster because it can see files and data that window cannot. Dunno if it will work, worth a try though!

You may be SOL. Unlike a hard drive; which when you "delete" something, it only makes that part of the drive free to write to if needed, a DVD+RW uses the laser to revert the dye back to it's original colour.

Let us know if you have any luck.

I think there must be some way - Only the start of the disk has been altered (hence quick erase). I'm guessing the header, file table, or whatever equivalent to FAT.

If only the start of the disk has been changed, the rest has not been modified in any way, so it should still be readable somehow.

I will try ISO Buster tomorrow and report back. Thanks peeps :|
