Help needed in Re-formatting/Partitioning/making 2 operating systems on my computer(Windows Vista)?!

I have got a Dell computer which has Windows Vista with 1GB ram and 320 GB Hard-disk and i want to reformat my computer than partition the drives and than make 2 operating systems(XP and vista). I dont know how to do this. Please could someone give me a complete-detailed guide telling me how to do this and in which order. I want to keep just 40 GB for vista and the rest for XP (I want to have a few partitions in this too). I have got the CD's of Windows XP, Windows Vista and Partition magic. Please tell me if I should post this thread in some other section.

If I were you I'd go to the Microsoft website. They have very detailed tutorials on how this is done. So I advise you go there. I'll just give you a basic run down of what your supposed to do. Before you do anything BACK UP YOUR DATA.Then insert the windows CD and restart your computer. When it starts booting up it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD so press the Any key.lol. That should take you into the screen with the partitions. There should be only one but if theres more its O.K. Next you going to delete the partition so you can divide it. On the screen it will have the button to delete the partition. It should be 'D' [Minus the exclamation marks]. Once you press 'D' on the partition thats being used it will ask you to confirm, it will say which letter you have to press to confirm. Now that there are no partitions, its time to make a new ones. Press 'C' and that will take you to a new screen and there it will ask you how much space do you want reserve for that partition. So just type in the amount you want to give it. Next you have to format it. You'll be given four options. Pick Format with Fat not quick format. Normal format then it will say since the size allocated is above 2008Mb [I think} it will use Fat32 file system. Repeat the steps to make the other partition. Once all that is done. Its time to install the OS. SO pick the partition you want to install it to and it will give you some options whether you want format it or just leave it as it is and install so just go and install. There you have it. I am not responsible if anything happens to your computer or anything else. I don't think anything can happen unless you a dumbass who didn't back up his data. I suggest going to the Microsoft site. Its not that hard I'm only 15 and I managed to do it. So I'm pretty sure you can.
