Hey Guys, I could really use some help, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Yesterday my Xbox hard drive crashed due to overheading (I presume). It is not repairable, and I'll have to replace it. The big problem is that I have an Xbox live subscription, that I have been playing on this hard drive for a year. What are my options for replacing the hard drive while still being able to play on live without being banned? I have plenty spare hard drives at my house, and access to both formatted and unformatted Xbox hard drives which would be donated from friends. What can I do? I really would appreciate any help, and thanks anyway for reading this thread. - David.
If you soft modded then you can use a lockable hard drive if you saved your Xbox files on your computer. If you didn't you still need a lockable hard drive. YOu then need to download slayers or hddmaker and find the default XBox files in it. And you should be able to just hook it up to your computer as a Slave drive and put the files on it and then put it in your Xbox.
Thanks dude, But would this work with a hard drive that was taken out of my friends xbox, which he then formatted and used on his PC? My modchip is a phyiscal one, on the motherboard. Also, I have read that Xbox's that use Xbox Live are permantently partnered to the hard drive that is inside them, and changing this hard drive would ring alarm bells over at Microsoft and they'd ban me. Thanks alot for you help.
Well i have heard if you have a different hard drive than the stock one that your xbox would be banned. I also heard though that if it was lockable and you lock it that you don't get banned. You may want to ask someone who has actuall done this before you go and do it.
