For my short film, i wrote my own subtitles in notepad, and using MediaSubtitler i applied them to the short film, and created both a .srt file and .ssa file. I did embed the subs into the video using Virtualdub and i succeeded.

But the subtitles are at the centre of the screen in a large font and thevideo is not visible. Is there any process to edit the subtitles? like change the font, colour or orientation? I have tried changing the fonts, and sizes on Media Subtitiler but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated. I have to submit my movie for a short film competetion and the time's running out.
    Thank you.
    Cheers!

I hope you mean you have a good copy of the movie without subtitles that you want to apply the subs.

Using Srt2ssa you load the .srt file, choose the colour, font, size and position and save as .ssa
In Virtualdub use the Subtitler filter to load the .ssa and check the position.

Thanks mate. But i am a fool. Can you believe that all the while i had been making the Font size changes and all on media subtitler and not been saving the file before appending it?

Just saved it and got the required O/P. Thanks for replying
