Hi all! This is the third time I'm asking for help, lol...

I finally did all the dirty work in DVD Shrink and compressed A Walk To Remember appropriately. Now, all I have to do is burn the software.

I purchased Nero 6.0.0.23, because everyone on this board highly recommends it, and I've had successful CD burning experiences in Nero Burning Rom.

On a tutorial someone recommended, www.chrismccann.co.uk/nero.htm, the author simply says to drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder from my C drive, containing all the files DVD Shrink created.

The problem is, when I click Create A DVD Video, there isn't just one blank area to drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder in. Instead, it's divided into two folders: a yellow folder called AUDIO_TS, and a red folder called VIDEO_TS.

What do I do with these folders??? Please help!

Thanks (again) - I love y'all to death for taking the time to help me.

    Jen

Or, do you recommend me downloading some freeware (AnyDVD, for example, got high reviews) and using that if it'd be easier?

Jen, drag the VIDEO_TS folder from your HDD into the column where the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders are, it will probably open up into the individual vob, bup, ifo files. Before you do this, though, select the DVD Video mode instead of UDF/ISO, works better for home dvd players with Nero 6.Then burn it's sorry ass !!
You can also try ripping it with DVDDecrypter to HDD, then compressing with DVD2One, instead of just using DVDShrink. Good luck, Jen

Well, the guide at that link was written for version 5....I wrote it and it is a little outdated now for the current versions.....but

Instead of dragging YOUR video_ts folder, open it up (by clicking on it) and then drag ALL the files - ifo/bup/vob into the 'red video_ts folder'....

To do the above you can highlight one file then press ctrl+a on each individual file and highlight the rest....then drag ALL over....

    Hope this helps....

You have Nero and it can do the job. When you are in Create video section as you said you have two folders AUDIO_TS, and VIDEO_TS. Open the VIDEO_TS after opening the folder locate the folder that has the backed up DVD Shrink files Copy the files in the folder to Nero's Create Video VIDEO_TS folder that you just opened. From there its time to burn.
    Hope this helps

When I use the browser in Nero I find my VIDEO_TS file and click on it, all the VOBS,BUPS etc appear in the window on the right. I then right click that window to "select all" then right click again to "add to compilation" then burn.

Trouble is I do not use Nero anymore, I have moved over to the bright side of the moon (recordnow DX).....

The principle is still the same, so it may just need copy and pasting to tie up with version 6......

I do believe it is relatively straight forward using the dvd video option and the compatibility seems to have improved on from that of version 5......

It's just a case of whatever works for the individual, at the end of the day. There's quite a few programs out there, you've just gotta try a combination of 'em all and see what works for YOU.

    TOO true.....

I personally do not believe there is a 'best' burning software out there......

The best one is the one that fulfills your own requirements.........

(I have myself) and others have purchased things whether PC related or not....got it home and found that you wished it could do this or wished it could that but unfortunately cannot do what you wanted it for.....a little research goes along way first.....thats why a/dawn rocks......

I'm pretty sure the guides for Shrink and Nero 6 Burning ROM located here are the newest and best avalible. They are very user friendly! I figured out the "right click on the files" stuff myself! (dumb luck) but it works without having to drag or drop anything. No need to click to open the red VIDEO_TS folder either.

You can't really, physically 'Break' anything, so have a shot at everything recommended, whatever the software. Soon enough, you'll find your balance. Gotta crawl before you walk.

You have to clk on bideo ts after you get to nero express, then it will change and then clk on add and go to the location where you put your files, you can then drag and drop them into the video ts location, I was confused at first also because in 5.5 this was automatic but not in 6.o, hope this helps.

First you need to create a vid file in doc's with the same name as the video_TS file

Then copy into that file, then find that file when you burn.

    Hope this helps.
