I would like to get a better graphics card for my computer but afraid I might get a card that might not be right for my comp. Here's the what I have: Win 7 64 bit, AMD Athlon 2 X2 220 dual-core, 1 TB drive, 3GB DDR3 Mem but it has a GeForce 6150SE which I know isn't that great (you can search some info about my comp using this number: EL1358G-51W). I've been playing Star Trek On-Line and it seems to be barely running the game (I have everything turn down to the min to play along with IObit Game Booster 3). They're min is NVIDIA GeForce 7950 / ATI Radeon X1800 / Intel HD Graphics and they recommend a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 / ATI Radeon HD 3850. SO, how I know what graphic card is right for my comp and how I know what type to get(like PCI or whatever)?
computer has a PCIEx16 slot for the graphics card, but it only has a 220W power supply unit (PSU). You'll need to replace this with a good quality 550W PSU (approx $60) before installing a graphics card. http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f24/el1358g-51w-emachines-upgradable-589960.html
