Hey. I wasn't sure if this was supposed to go in this forum, or the playback form. So please move it if its in the wrong place. Anyway, I've got a Samsung HR-720 DVD player which has DIVX support. However when I put AVI files onto CD and play them in the DVD player, it plays fine, but the video is full of vertical lines, almost like strips where the contrast is different. Here's a picture I took... I've tried using different encoding methods to correct the avi files, but it doesn't seem to be working. The DVD Recorder manual says it can play. MPEG4 File with following extentions can be played: .avi, .divx, .AVI, .DIVX MPEG4 Codex format: DivX 3.11, DivX 4.x, DivX 5.x, DivX Pro (without Qpel and GMC) But i've tried removing Qpel and GMC and even tried converting the file from Xvid to Divx and things like that but the problem hasn't changed. Does anyone have any idea whats causing this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I couldn't access your pic but I use AutoGk for my transcoding to divx works great good images and can encode in ac3 5.1 if you are downloading these files try using a file checker like Digital Video Repair, or something similar that i will check the files for any flaws and attempt to repair. ONe last tweak I use is if my downloaded files have words like hdtv or pdtv I rename it by just deleting those references you would be suprised how oftem my divx player thinks hdtv means it can't play it becuz once I rename the file it plays just fine.
