Hi, i've built a new pc and installing win xp however at some point during the install usually when finalizing the installation i get the blue screen of death with a bad_pool_caller error.

    These are my specs.

    Motherboard: Asus P5Q-E
    Graphics Card: nvidia 280gtx
    intel core 2 duo E8700 3.33ghz
    2gb ram
    250 gigs hard drive.

I use an adaptor for connecting to the internet and I use the motherboard sound system for sound.

Is your version of XP legit? If it is, and the disc is clean, then it sounds like a hardware fault.
edit: never mind about the second line I posted, my mistake.

I would start with the RAM, especially since you're likely to have 2 sticks of it. Try with one, then the other (if that doesn't solve the problem).
