can u play games (roms) from off a disk or do u have to put them on your hdd. and if so is there a special way u have to burn them?
For N64, you need Surreal 64 Beta 4 (there might be like a 4.5 now...but I cant find the d/l). Anyways, yeah you can play roms of your disc. You just have to edit the .ini file to look for the disc. So you have to set the .ini file to look in the d:/ directory. Hope this helps. Also, check out the bottom of this post: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/311710 There is a link for downloads to emulators...that might help ya out too.
how do i make the ini file to look for d? and is there a certin or special way that u have to burn the rom? regular data bootable data? oh and thanks for the help so far.
DVD-R or CD-R should work. What you do...in each emulator, there is a .ini file. Like for SURREAL 64...there are 4 .ini's, but only use the one w/ the says the name of the emulator (e.g. SURREAL.INI, HUGO.INI, etc). Open that up, and hten just change the ROM DIRECTORY (should be near the top of hte file), and just have it point to D:/. I think it already does...but just make sure. And then when you put the roms of the disc, it would also depend on how you make it. If you put 64 roms in a n64 folder, your directory would be: d:/n64 So, either make different discs with the roms or change the directory to look in the folder I hope this helps
i checked and the 64 emulator does check for d but i put in my disk and nothing. i must be doing something wrong. i go to coolroms and find the game i want and save to my desktop. tham on my desktop it shows up as a zipfile. i can open the zip file and there are 2 folders in it but i cant open them dont have the progrem to. but anyway i open up nero and ive tryed a reg data burn and a bootable burn. but i click and drag the zip file into what i want to burn and than burn it. am i doing this wrong?
What kind of zip file is it? Is it that 7zip some losers use? If it is, look up 7zip (I think thats what it is) and d/l it and try to unpack it then. Then you should only be puttin files on such as .z64 or .n64 (I forget the what the file types are...but I think the .z64 is one of them).
