Surely someone in this forum can educate me on this. I have bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software and tried countless times to get it to work but it is not. I am thinking about returning it and getting a more advanced device but do not want to spend over 125.00 for it. I have looked at the Pinnacle Dazzle and the Pinnacle black box transfer device that runs around 100.00. Does anyone have any advised to transfer VHS to DVD using my laptop. I do not have or want the wonder card which would work. I wanted to get a plug and play devise. Thanks for the input and education.

The dazzle box takes the output of the vhs even tv output but you can only put about one hour of real time on a SL disc 4.7 gigs and that's why I said there is a learning curve just to get used to the program and it takes a while to encode and burn but it works you have good editing with it I would check out their web They are running Pinnacle 11 it includes HD I don't have a hd cam so I don't use it

wantto know why you only get one hour on a dvd?.. it's down to the black level variance in analog video.. it needs levelling but i don't know a windows app offhand which does that.. maybe some of the dv import apps after capturing as a raw data stream? we use a cheap dvd recorder as our first step.. but somebody a long time ago pointed me at mainconcept.

Thanks I loaded the software last night and looked at it a little. When you connect the VCR and slect play does it have to be on a certain channel or will the software recognize the picture? Thanks for your help I will need it LOL.

Thanks I got it up on my laptop. When capturing does the sound drag or does it just do that while capturing? Thanks for the help.

There is a delay in the sound while watching if you record for a long time without letting it catch up it can get out of sync you'll just have check your capture and capture in chunks if this happens I would burn small videos until you get the hang of it
