Christ. These erratic Nero errors are giving me a headache. I would like to make a data DVD, but I get this "Write Error". I had no problem making a data CD last week. And I also had no problem making DVD movie disc a few weeks ago (using another program), all using the same brand discs. So why it is giving me a hard time now? O_O Anybody got some Advil? - Thanks in advance...

you got a lot of problems here! where to start! ok.... first off:

    http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters/teac-dv-w24e/86
here is a view of your burner... it's old.. it's a 4x DVD burner! And you are trying to write to newer media..... crappy CMC Mag media to boot! I can't seem to find a firmware update for it so it can MAYBE write to the newer media.

Don't be fooled.... CMC Mag media:
the one you're trying to write to.... is crap and using better media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (NOT THE ONES MADE IN INDIA - read label) will help stop these problems.

So, because your burner is not new and I would try to buy the 8x media and not the 16x media .... hopefully your firmware that you have now for your drive can burn to the 8x media!

there is a better version of Nero 7.... 7.10.1.0........

Save your serial # then uninstall Nero!
Use the cleaning tool: Nero7 Clean tool http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html
do a registry clean up using this free cleaner: CCleaner:
    http://www.ccleaner.com/download
then do a defrag and reboot!

    now reinstall Nero 7.10.1.0: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?2893

using too much memory up and not letting Nero work efficiently! Free up some memory by closing out some programs running in the background.... no multi tasking while burning, no internet, even shut off your anti virus (which may or may not interfere with Nero) while burning!

is this a virtual drive? if so disable it! shut it off... virtual drives sometimes interferes with Nero!

burning too slow is just as bad as burning too fast! burn at 4x for your drive! If Nero set this speed to burn then it's having a problem with your disk! use better media ... as stated earlier!

this is not good for burning DVDs in Nero! If you have Roxio installed (this is where this driver is often found) sometimes this interferes with Nero burning DVDs. Uninstall Roxio and you should be better!

this is a Write Error. There are many cases where there is a problem with the disc, or information cannot be retrieved from the disc properly. Try a new disc. As stated above.

do these changes and hopefully you will have better luck..... most importantly.... use 8x media! if you can find 4x then the better!
