help please

    my cable went out today and when it came back on i couldn't get on the internet. i called my service provider and they were no help they just told me to call hewlett packard. I resent the modem i've uninstalled and installed the tcp/ip and all the adapters. i'm accually thinkin about reformatting cause i'm so frustrated. anyone with any help?

    another thing that happends is when i go to the command prompt and type ipconfig /release..... etc. nothing happends it just shows all the functions i should be typing, like if i'm typing it in wrong which i'm not i've done it a million times before. Thanks for any help

    try ipconfig /renew

    i still get nothing ...nothing works

    see if can borrow a friend's computer that gets on the net the same as you to see if is your computer or modem is causing the problem.
