Can't say why, this happens to me too, I restart and all is well you must use high speed service. This never happen on dail up it just would crap out in the middle of something I don't think its anything to worry about. As long as you can restart and get on the net.

Well i'd recommend just disconnecting and reconnecting again. No need to restart PC i should think.

I don't have the answer but I know I would find it annoying too ... I think you'd have better luck though if you contacted a moderator to see if there is a more appropriate forum to ask the question.

It's rumored that some P2P software can interfere with your internet connection.

i have heard, and this is just hear say, but if you have Limewire as your p2p then this pertains to you. While limewire is running it will release your ip and assign you one that they provide only allowing you to connect to their network and that is it. If you shutdown limewire and stop there traffic then release and renew the ip, you should be all set. Let me know if this fixed your issue. I haven't experienced it myself but have friends said that that what was it was.

    Hi all, I'm new here.

You could try doing a spyware check using Adaware or Spybot. Also empty your history / temp internet files, including cookies.

ok i have figured out what was causing it and how to fix it.
problem = bitlord what halfhere said but instead of limewire it is bitlord.
solution = stop bitlord close it wait like 2 mins and open your ie explore it should work. then open up bitlord and it will happen again after a while but you just do the solution again and it should work.
not the perfect solution but at least i dont have to restart.
