Sometimes SP2 has problems in the download. I would suggest removing it and downloading it again. I do not see how it would have messed up your printer, but after you remove it see if the printer works.

If the printer does not work then you have a driver issue. This could also be the case with SP2. Check your printer driver for updates.

Could you be a little more specific. You did what and it worked? What is still not working?

I removed the comment before this one to give you something else to try. After you do the Install of SP2 go to Microsoft.com and get all updates both express and custom. It will do a search and suggest which updates that you need.

SP2 has been out for quite a while. All of the updates and patches for SP2 are not on the download file. The updates should update your drivers. Also if you are connected to a network you need to disconnect and update your network drivers. This can cause constant communication even if you are not doing anything and will slow down system performance. Let me know if that works. Do not worry about the printer right now. One step at a time.
