Ok I went to flash my x3 and whenever I try to flash it it says "Unknown flash! Halting". I have flashed this modchip plenty of times before. I am using the X3 3294 bios. I have tried network flashing, loading from hdd, and loading from cd. I have tried every combination on the dipswitches. I have tried both ways on the protection switch on the modchip itself. It gives the same error no matter what I do. Help quick please.........
you sure flashprotect is off on the external dipswitch? have you tried flashing through ftp(ftp to xbox in configlive)?
im sure about the dipswitch, how do i flash through config live with ftp????? I have tried network flashing through flashbios, but same error...thanks
boot the xbox to configlive(hold white button during boot up) you can ftp from configlive...user/pass: x3 when ftping from configlive. ftp to the xbox and there should be a admin folder, in there you can ftp the .bin file into the 1024bank, the xbox will then flash the chip...worth a shot i guess.
I cant get into config live, because I flashed the chip and it messed up and now there is no bios on there. The only thing I can get into is the backup flashbios program.
you tried booting to the backup, then set the switches to on,on,off, off, off and flash? and it didn't work?
don't know what to tell you, maybe you should not flash your chip so much, there is really no need to flash it every week when a new build comes out. you getting these bios files from the "usual places"? maybe they were corrupted during transfer.
I dont flash my chip every week. I was flashing it to put gentoox loader bios on there so i could install it and it went crazy on me. Yes I got it from the "usual place".
and you sure you used the correct version of the bios with regard to the version xbox you have. i wasn't saying you flashed it every single week, but you did say that you have flashed it a bunch...just saying there is no need to flash a bios very often.
yes im sure. THe only thing I can think of is team xecuter site says if that error message comes up then its in flash protection mode. It must be stuck in flash protection mode even though both switches are set correctly...
don't know what to tell you...you could try and flash 256k bios to the chip and see if that will work.
Either the flash protect on the chip/switch is on, or you are not flashing with the correct bios. There is no other reason why you cannot flash your chip....
