Hi all, Had my Starview box for over 12 months now and recently been getting a "no signal" message from it during the day, no matter how many times I scan I either pick up 10 channels or 37 channels and sometimes it goes up to 110 but none of them de-scramble to allow viewing. After midnight some of the channels allow you to view them but they break up terribly while watching or the message comes up that it's updating. I've tried factory resets, tried re-installing the software to the box (version 4.0) and nothing seems to work. It's a legitimate starview box (not a clone). I know what people are going to say that it's a service outtage in my area but my modems working fine and not shutting off so I don't know why my television would be. I have the starview connected through a splitter block on the same line as the modem. None of the channels are showing a signal bar whatsoever and the frequency ranges I'm picking up are from 390.000 to 790.000 or higher. I live in the Northampton area and the keys my box is picking up are: key 00: 98 89 2F 99 66 B8 EF 28 key 01: CE 97 58 27 7C 81 EF 28 the previous keys were (which I've tried changing back to): key 00: 3D 2B DF AA 54 C8 DD A0 key 01: E2 C9 74 0A 04 22 A6 12 Any help on resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated or any solution would be. I'm pulling my hair out not being able to watch television LOL Also can anyone link me to V3.0 of the software for the normal starview boxes please. Thanks for all your help in advance. Baz.
hi if u have the original starview 1 not starview 2[ the box ] vers.4.o ok to use, dont use vers.3.o problems with it. if u have problems scanning and receiving chs.not getting them all? go to your main cable companies box.plug co.axial [aerial] lead into cable input[so you are not scanning thru splitters that weaken signal] factory reset ok wipes out ch.data,english,switch off box at back for a min, switch on,english ok,installision your provider select,auto scan and wait ??? chs.found wait to store exit go to parental control press info 2004,go to key emu off to on exit exit exit auto updating picture and sound. make sure u have good quality leads and connections!
