I need to convert some avi files to vcd to be played on a stand alone dvd player ive tried to use the tmpge but get sound and no video on most of the avi files is there any software I can purchase or something i can use to play the avi on a dvd player thanx
You can always try avi2vcd freeware. You will sometimes get still frames so you need to check them all out before you burn anything and waste a cd-r. Cleaner 5.1 also has a bad ass program for encoding if you are up for spending the $299 price tag for it. Also, when you get done.... easy writer is horrible at burning vcds that will play on your dvd player. Nero 5.5 and 5.0 are the best for something like that. You can download it for cheap on the net. Try this site to double check that yours will play. http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php Some CD's won't play well in your dvd player so when you burn you vcd burn it at 2x. i have found that the cheap and stupid looking Office Depot CD's work the best on all 3 dvd players that I have. I never have problems getting them to play correctly. Hope this helps
Please help! I am a beginner so please speak to me in laymen terms. I want to burn my vaction pictures as a slideshow with sound so I am able to watch it on my stand alone dvd. I made the presentation from Powerpoint but now I have no idea how to get what I want. Please advise me and be gentle, remember I am a beginner. Thanks in advance.
avi2vcd: when using tmpgenc, make sure you have all the right codecs or else tmpgenc will give you a file unsupported response. try divx 3.11,4.o,5.01. smtd: what kind of programs do you have to make this video if you have a windows me or higher you can you windows movie maker.( not trying to plug windows or anything but i found it real simple, to do the kind of thing he wants to do.)
