I don't think I've activated the virus yet but I'm not very sure, I keep getting this window icon of a flashing triangle that says:

    System Alert: Trojan-spy.win32@ms
    type: spyware/trojan
    vulnerable: Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2003/Windows XP
Description: Spyware program that sends confidential information to a remote attacker
protection: click this baloon to download official security software.

I would like to know how to get rid of this and also I would like to know if I activated it or not. The story behind it is I was instaling an update for Activex so I could watche videos and as soon as I downloaded it all this stuff came up and this little flashing triangle icon appeared and any scans I use with AVG find nothing at all please help

Download Hijackthis ver. 1.99.1 from HERE and save it to your Desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch HijackThis.
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Copy and paste the log to this topic

DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
