OK this is what i have now and would like to reuse as much as possible ecs rs400a mother board, celeron 2.8 ghz single core cpu, 2 gig ddr2 pc2 4200 533 mhz ram, pioneer dvd rw dvr 111d dvd burner, tsst dvd dvd rom sh d162c dvd player, atx 450 power supply, wd 160 gig hard drive,90 gig seagate hard drive and a mid tower case not for sure on name or model. I now for sure a new motherboard and I want a quad core cpu. My goal is to build a gaming computer and a computer to sure the net thanks to who ever read this and gives input
I'll be honest, there isn't worth much saving from that build but the disc drives. What's your budget, what sort of games do you play, what size monitor do you have/need, and what sort of settings would you like to use? (e.g. maxed out, reasonably high, or just high enough to play the game at all)
In the industry, you have what we'd call a "forklift" upgrade. Keep the hard driveand optical drive, pitch/sell everything else.
ok thanks for the help i thought i would have to start over. i would like to build for 600 us money any suggesting
well none yet my current computer not very fast but would like it to play all current games this is what Ive come up with
The choices are mostly good, but you don't need a DDR3 board, so you can get this instead to save money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359 and the RAM you've chosen isn't very good, I recommend this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214 You haven't chosen a case or graphics card, which you will need. These are pretty good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042
