At the end of the day if your downloading files from a source for free and the author requires a licence and you dont have it then its illegal for which I am sure you are aware of.

In terms of how much trouble you could get into depends on whether you get caught downloading the files! The industry seems to be focusing on the uploaders rather than the downloaders at the moment but thats not to say they are not tracking what is being downloaded.

Its down to you on whether you want to buy a licence or not? If you do at least you are legal and you can watch what you want and have the correct rights to it.

I hope this is of some help to you.
