I bought a new Asus mother board bundle with a case and fitted my DVD drive and hard drive to it, it seems to be working ok but thought it should be better, I'm unsure whether I need to update the Bios settings, well I'm not 100% sure what they do, I've read the mother board user guide and the web site but most of the info is for new systems and as I've used my original hard drive, everything was already on it, can anyone tell me, will my bios settings need to be updated or changed or must they have been changed with the installation CD, it won't be running on the bios settings of my old PC that would have been on the hard drive, would it?

Have you tried to reinstall windows? Sometimes "old" windows won't work with some new parts.

What is actually the problem? You should never update your BIOS for the sake of it, especially with an Asus board.

I've found what I was looking for thanks, I just wasn't sure if the bios settings were correct for the new mother board.
