My son bought an Action Replay DS last week and just now tells me that it won't stay in the DS - there's not click and it keeps sliding out. Returned it today for another one - same problem. Any ideas to help figure out what's wrong?

Spring latch on slot 1 is damaged. You may be able to unstick it by repeated insertion/removal of the cart.

If that doesn't resolve the problem the unit will need to be returned for repait.

Slot 1 is a sealed unit which cannot be easily replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply! You certainly seem to know what's wrong here.

Does it make a difference in your conclusion if the regular game carts "lock in" like they should? The only problem he is having right now is with the Action Replay DS right now.

To me, it just looks like the Action Replay can't be pushed down far enough to "catch" because the wider part prevents it.

Since the Action Replay is a "retail" item, perhaps you could return it as defective.

If game carts work and the AR doesn't, you got it right, it points to a defective AR.

If the seller won't take a return, try the manufacturer.

Well, good. I sure hope it's the AR, and not the DS!

I did exchange it once, and the replacement AR exhibits the same problem. My son bought it with a gift card, so even though they say they won't take back unopened software like this, maybe they will at least give him back the money on the gift card.

Thanks for all your help, dailun!
