Hi all I've just run into a problem with my Clone DVD software. So far I've been lucky, I've never made any coHi all I've just run into a problem with my Clone DVD software. So far I've been lucky (approximately 70 burned), I haven’t made any coaster until today, I now have 4! I use DVD shrink to rip the info then go to Clone DVD for the burning process. Towards the end of the burn at about 98% done I get the following message… Write Error: Writing to video DVD was not successful: DVD write error {write DVD 9} A DVD write error occurred probably caused by bad medium please replace the medium and try again.

I though it might be the Memorex+R disks so I opened a different box and had the same results. As I said before up until now I had great luck with these disks. Can anyone shed some light on this situation? I tried to uninstall and reinstall the clone software, still get the error message. I’m running an LG burner Win98.

    Help please! Thanks!

which model of LG burner are you using and what firmware. Have you made any changes or installed anything new around when this happened?

Hi, I'm running the LG GSA-4040B. I got the firmware update from the LG site when I installed the burner about 4 months ago. The firmware is A302?

Like I say I've burned a ton of disks (70 or 80), this is the first time I've run into this error. I haven't made any changes to my PC in the last little while. I thought it might have been the movie that I was trying to back up so I tried another with no luck?

    Help!

Oh, one other quick note... the 4 DVD/coasters that I have burned and got the error message on... well they seem to work fine in my DVD player, except the end of the movie is cut off??

well you could try a higher quality media because memorex tends to use cmc to make their media which is generally not very good. I would recomend ritek, Maxell or Verbatim and see if that helps.

I use the same burner without ever having a problem and there is a new firmware update out now A303

The end of the movie cuting off is a sign of poor quality media because the edge of the media is poorly manufactured. you can either get higher quality media or set the max size output to be smaller then the preset of 4464MB set it to about 4400MB and you should be fine.
