Hi Guys I hope someone can help me - I am pulling my hair out !!!! I am trying to burn various DVD-Movies but have yet to get a disk that plays with no glitches on my PC (DVD-Rom & DVD-R),Standalone DVDplayer or XBox. Playback seems to be OK but in fast moving scenes the picture pixelates and gets really blocky (a bit like when Digital TV has interferance) I know that the source files are OK because they play OK from the HDD with PowerDVD. I have tried ripping with DVD2One & SmartRipper and the results are the same. I intially thought that the problem was with the media so I have tried Princo,Ritek G03 & G04 but the problem persists. What makes me think that media is not the cause is that I have tried burning these exact disks on a Mac G4 at work and they work absolutely fine. I have even tried Ritek DVD-RW, same again.......... I have even tried 2 different burners - both LaCie external FireWire DVD-R/RW's, one using the Pioneer A04 and the other a Pioneer A05. Nero & RecordNow Max - still the f*****g same. I am using an Athlon 800, 512MB RAM, Win2K Pro, KT133 M/Board & FireWire PCI card. What else can I try??? In anticipation.............
Hey how you doing, I can sympathize with you the amount of discs that I have wasted on perfecting this process. but now I think I have done it yes by using various programs that I have. but the newest and easiest that I have found is a small program which does it ALL even compresses large files onto 4.7gb disc and I have had no problem with blockyness or audio sync,it even puts all the menus and special features on the disc also. I think its amazing. well all you need is two programs "smart ripper" and "CloneDVD" smart ripper you can get by searching. CloneDVD you get from www.elby.ch and you will find a trial download. Then what you do is load dvd, open smartripper, click backup tab, choose destination on hard disc press start. once finshed open CloneDVD and choose clonedvd option.dont change anything click next next next and so on till it starts to do its thing. one done try it in you standalone.works on my old old old machine. let me know how you get on andykree@aol.com Best of luck
If you are still having problems, try using DVD Shrink to rip and compress the DVD movie. There will be a guide on afterdawn within the next few days outlining the methods.
Man thats messed up I have the same burner but no problems, what is your burner connect to secondary master primary slave?? I know it might sound like that doesnt matter but trust me it does. You say you've used dvd2one, when dvd2one was finished what did u use to burn?
