    Re-encode it to a standard 720x480 29.97fps mpeg-2.

It must be 720x480 for NTSC, or 720x576 for PAL.
It's the way you've encoded it.
What encoder are you using to make the mpeg-2's?

Click Details, crop and scale. Remove the tick from keep aspect, or keep ratio (whatever it's called, and scale it properly, based on the aspect ratio and framesize of your source.

Ok, I lost you at "based on the aspect ratio and framesize of your source"

It says the size is 640x272, So should i change that to 720x480 in the crop and scale window that pops up..

    640x272 is 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen.
To get it properly in Mainconcept, you'll need to add letterboxing (the black bars top and bottom).
    Here's what you do:
Take the width you need it to be(720) and divide that by it's current width (640). This equals 1.125
Take it's current height (272) and multiply by 1.125. This equals 306.
In Mainconcept, Load the DVD template, then click Details, then the Crop and Scale button.
Take the tick mark out of the "Keep Proportions" box.
Make the height 306. Leave the width at 720.
    Encode.
This is the same for NTSC or PAL.

Thanks again for you help rebootjim, But I must be doing something wrong! I still cant get the video looking right..When I open Mainconcept and load the template and click Detail There is a box for the"Keep Proportions" that has a tick in it also shows me the video setting on that first window before i hit the Crop and Scale button , When I hit the Crop and Scale button There is anothere "Keep Proportions" box when i untick that one and try and change the settings to 720x306 it wont let me change it, But if I untick the first"Keep Proportions" box before I hit the Crop and Scale button and untick the second on too I am able to change it to 720x306, But when its finish coverting the pic doesnt like right..Not sure if I'm missing something or not! Is there a better program out there to try????

Just select "Mpeg-2" instead of "DVD" on the first screen.
All the settings are then available as I mentioned above.
