I've had this XBOX for a while and it broke about 6 months ago because someone dropped it. Today I decided to fix it and I Think I have it completely fixed only now the audio and video don't show up on the screen. I'm positive all of the chords are connected, the only thing that's different from a regular hook-up is that it's modded and the top of the XBOX is off for easy access. ANY help to fix this problem will be appreciated.
Scratch That. My modchip is at the bottom left hand corner of the XBOX and it has a blue light on it. It has three switches that say, Enable Disable, Protect Unprotect, and Bank 1 Bank 2. Each switch can be moved from left to right. I've been messing with the switches trying to get it to turn on and with most of them it tries to turn on, turns off, turns on, turns off, then turns on stays on and flashes green and red. No picture is coming up on the screen at all. If we can't get this to work, then could I take the Hardrive and Modchip outta this XBOX and put it in a different one? Thanks.
Sounds like the terminals might be busted on the motherboard. Check to see if anything snapped or came loose on the A/V output connector on the spots it's soldered to the board. If you like, you could move the modchip to a different Xbox like you asked, but you can't move the hard drive unless you have the EEPROM for it or it's already unlocked.
I know that the place where you push the modchip down is missing a piece of metal so i used a staple instead, it didn't work. How do I find out about the harddrive?
You... used a staple? You didn't put it in one of the spots that aren't supposed to have a connection, did you? As for the hard drive, I'm not sure what you're asking about. If you don't know what the EEPROM is, chances are you don't have it, and that hard drive is basically a paper weight unless you get your Xbox up and running again.
