help. I have the same problem as MVYVODA but im using win98. In device manager the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller does not exist so what setting do i need to change? Also how do i check the DMA settings? I know its the same old same old but i'm truely lost...
make sure ur chipset drives are upto date. DMA is in bios but dont mess with what u don't know it shuld be ok since dvd-rw/+rw only use dma 2 and anything higher will be fine.
found out how to check the dma, but my real problem is how to get win98 to recognise my dvdr, there is no ide ata/atapi controller that i can see so what do i need to change...storage devices?????
im using win98 and in the divice manager there is no ide ata/ atapi controller option to choose or am i going mad??
